Gratitude is in my heart

We know that 2020 has been a year of many difficulties, things happened that were not planned and many others that we dreamed of simply vanished amidst the uncertainty. It was a year that for many left the mark of a loss, of a painful goodbye, or of frustrated plans by a cause out of the ordinary: a global pandemic.

For many, 2020 will be remembered as the year where they lost everything, where they discovered the true meaning of friendship and loneliness. Where they found new ways to communicate with the people they love, but also another way to realize that living under the same roof is not synonymous with family. It is cruel, but it is a reality that many discovered during this year.

Some found love during this season, others started a life together by taking the commitment of marriage and others brought into this world little creatures that revolutionized their lives completely.

Without a doubt, this year will go down in history as the year that changed our lives, for better or for worse, but something happened. As you read this blog, we would like to ask you a question: How are you going to remember this year? How are you going to embrace 2020, the year of madness?

Maybe for you it was an incredible year, but for others it was terrible. No matter how cruel and devastating it was or how much pain it caused, it is temporary. No matter how good it was, it wasn't the climax of your life, there's still a long way to go, it's temporary.

And with this we want to tell you something... be grateful. Be thankful for everything, for what you had in the past but is no longer there, for what you still don't have but by faith you will have, but above all, be thankful for what you have this day. If you have a family, be thankful for your family. If you have a house, give thanks for that house. If you have food on your table, give thanks for that food. Don't worry about what you lost or what you don't have, be thankful for what is in front of you today.

Perhaps you have not reached the place where you would like to go, but look back and you will realize that you are not where you were before, you have moved forward. Be thankful for that.

That is why the Apostle Paul left us this recommendation...

“Let joy be your continual feast. Make your life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭

Do you consider yourself a grateful person? If not, what are those reasons to be thankful this day? Pause and remember everything you have received this day, this week, this month, this year, in your life. Good and bad, remember that everything is temporary.

Make this end of the year worthy of being remembered for the gratitude that is in your heart. We encourage you to start this day by giving thanks, you still have time to end this year with a heart full of gratitude to God and all the people around you.
