What do I do when I lack faith?

One of the biggest battles in the missionary field is faith.

And perhaps you are asking yourself: faith? but? aren't they supposed to be Christians and trust in God? aren't they supposed to believe that without faith it is impossible to please God? Can missionaries deal with something like this?

The answer to all of the above questions is Yes. As believers, we know who we put our trust in and who we believe in when we leave our family, friends, and everything to serve in a place that is not our home.

It is also true that by faith everything is possible. That without it it is practically impossible to have a personal relationship with God and to believe that He exists.

And it is also true that faith is the secret ingredient in everything we do. You require faith in everything you want to do for the Kingdom: quitting your job to go serve on the other side of the world, giving your tithe when you see the pantry is almost empty, sowing into someone's life when you know there are still expenses for the month to be paid, leaving your family to go after an eternal purpose. It's a life of real faith.

And that's what we want to talk to you about. Every person who is part of YWAM Morelia has experienced God in an extraordinary way. They have seen supernatural provisions in times of crisis. You have seen debts canceled. You have seen your family redeemed. They have seen lives transformed because they said yes to God... Each one of them knows perfectly well who He is because they have experienced Him and we are sure that you do too.

But here comes an important question: what do I do when I lack faith? I know who God is. I trust Him. He has always provided everything I need. He has never failed me. However, sometimes there comes the feeling that this time I won't make it. It comes with doubt and the desire to abort the mission. What do I do when my faith becomes small compared to the great challenge ahead of me?

As human beings full of fears and insecurities, our immediate response is fear, despair, complaint, frustration, and hopelessness. And this is no exception in the mission field. Doubt and discouragement also come into our lives. Hopelessness also invites us to look to something or someone other than Jesus. But God always comes to remind us, that if He did it in the past, He will do it again today!!!!

So, today we want to encourage you to make the decision to believe God to do whatever it is He is putting on your heart. Taking the step of faith in obedience is difficult, but as always, God knows everything we need and He can see the full picture of our future. If He has done it in us, we are sure He can do it in you too.

Don't let fear or doubt rob you of the opportunity to experience God in a more intimate way. Take the step of faith and let God take care of the rest. We promise you will see many miracles happen.

Maybe your next step is to do a DTS (Discipleship Training School) here at YWAM Morelia.

Just do it! Why are you so afraid?

Mark 4:35-41

Just do it! Why are you so afraid?

“But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭37‬, ‭39‬-‭40‬ ‭NLT‬‬
